to see if i had any leaks i had to go around my hole garden which is about 450msq.i didn't find any leaks but i did find my old teniess ball.

.turn off water at the main tap or at water meter.
.turn on tap so any excess water runs out.
.undo the top of the tap useing a shifter.
.remove old washer.
.use a seatting tool to clean the inside of tap.
.replace washer.
. re-assemble tap.
.tighten with shifter.
.turn on water at the main tap or at water meter.
.repeat for all leaking taps.

I think read the water meter at night before going to bed and compare it in the morning. Assuming that no water was used during the night.

1. The water metre uses Litres and kilolitres
2. (A) check that you're water metre is not moving and no water is being used.
(B) fill up a 1L jug (or a jug that has measurment on it) then tip it down the sink.
(C) Look at you're water metre and see how much it has moved how much it hasn't moved.
(D) You should replace you're water metre if it not working properly.
3. According to the website we are responsible for using about 100 000 litres of water each year. This is not reliable because they have not put any information on who has writen this and how they got it.
